The certificate and proof
What the signed PDF records, and how it shows who signed.
Every signed PDF ends with a certificate. It records:
- Each signer's name and email, and that their link was sent only to that email.
- When they opened it, agreed to sign electronically, and signed, to the second.
- Their IP address and browser.
- Whether they drew or typed their signature.
- A fingerprint of the document before and after signing.

Tip A fingerprint is a code worked out from the file. Change one letter on a page and the code no longer matches.
Press Certificate on the document to open it on its own. The certificate carries the same record as Activity.
Documents you can't sign this way
In Nigeria, some documents can't be signed electronically. These include wills, birth and death certificates, marriage, divorce and adoption papers, and court documents like affidavits. If you're not sure, ask a lawyer.
